1Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Bridges of Civilizations ("we", "us"), based in Istanbul, Türkiye, regarding your use of medkop.org and related services (the "Platform").
By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account or making a donation, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2About the Platform
The Platform is a charitable platform that connects donors with documented humanitarian and development projects. Project descriptions, targets, progress figures and photographs are provided for information and may be updated as projects evolve.
3Eligibility and accounts
- You must be legally capable of entering into a contract and, to donate, of using the payment method you choose.
- You must provide accurate and current information when you register or donate.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
- You may not create accounts for abusive purposes or impersonate another person or organisation.
4Donations
- Donations are voluntary gifts. You receive no goods, services or financial return in exchange.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Payment-provider fees, where applicable, may be deducted from the amount received.
- Your donation is directed to the project you select. If a project is fully funded, suspended or can no longer be carried out, we may redirect the funds to another project with a similar humanitarian purpose.
- Amounts and currency are shown at checkout. Please review them before confirming.
- A donation does not create any ownership, membership or voting right in the organisation or in a project. Tax receipts are issued only where required by law and where we are able to do so.
5Refunds
Because donations are gifts that are put to use quickly, they are generally non-refundable. We will, however, review and, where appropriate, refund donations that were made by mistake, duplicated or made without authorisation, provided you contact us within 14 days of the transaction with the details of your donation. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
6Comments and user content
You may be able to post comments and send messages. You remain responsible for what you submit, and by posting you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Platform. You must not post content that:
- is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, harassing or threatening;
- is spam, advertising, or contains malicious links or code;
- infringes the intellectual-property or privacy rights of others; or
- contains personal data of third parties without their consent.
We may moderate, hide or remove content, and restrict accounts, at our discretion and without notice where these Terms are breached.
7Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Platform for fraud, money laundering or any unlawful activity;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, accounts or data, or probe or test its security;
- use bots, scrapers or automated means to submit forms, comments or donations, or to bypass rate limits;
- disrupt or overload the Platform or interfere with other users; or
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or misuse the name and branding of the Platform.
8Intellectual property
The Platform's design, text, logos, graphics, software and other materials are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and share links to the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not copy, modify, distribute or exploit our materials without our prior written permission.
9Third-party services
The Platform relies on third-party services, such as payment processing by Stripe, and may link to external websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.
10Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that information such as project progress will always be complete or current. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
11Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including force majeure, conflict, network failures and third-party service outages). Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
12Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data and forms part of these Terms.
13Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform or your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Platform and its users. You may stop using the Platform and ask us to delete your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
14Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The revised version applies from the "Last updated" date shown above. By continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
15Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you, the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve any concern amicably.
